Greetings from Denver, Colorado- the start to our journey back east. It’s been a whirlwind friends. Almost 5 1/2 weeks on the road and we couldn’t have had a better time. We met so many nice folks, ate the best food and had the greatest shows. We can now say we’re full-time as we won’t be returning to school in the fall and we’re so darn proud of it!
We arrived in Jackson on Wednesday evening to the home of Anne & Pete Sibley, our gracious hosts. If you have not heard this duo yet- stop reading this blog and check them out! They are the current APHC talent show champions as well as some very accomplished songwriters and musicians. We also might add two of the sweetest and gracious folks we had the privilege to meet on the road. Our short stay with them was the best way we could have ended this tour. We were welcomed with open arms, a delicious dinner and fine picking in the evening.
Jackson, Wyoming is amazing. It sits about 7,000 feet in elevation and is hugged by the Teton mountains. This is a heavily visited town in the summer due to its proximity to Yellowstone National Park- but what a beautiful little place. We hiked a little bit on Thursday morning and had great views of the mountains from our bedroom. We spent most of the afternoon preparing for our show that evening and also receiving great news that the show had sold out! Two great articles were written about us in the local papers which was a wonderful surprise!
We played at the Old Wilson Schoolhouse in Wilson- just outside of Jackson. Once a schoolhouse, it is now a community space that provides the perfect ambiance for concerts, art shows, etc. A very gracious crowd sat through our two sets and we were so happy to share a few songs with Anne & Pete at the end of each one. Over the course of our two-day stay, we fell in love with each others’ music. A HUGE THANK YOU to A & P for hosting us and sharing their music with us. You can expect to see them on the east coast in November- so check out their show schedule on their website and come to a show! We certainly will.
This isn’t the end of the blog- we will continue to update you on shows and events occurring in our lives. We will stop back in Kansas City for another visit with our friends and plan to be home shortly after that. We are playing on Friday, August 7th in our little town of Scottsville in honor of our friends 3 Penny Acre coming into town. Please check OUR schedule on the website for more info on upcoming shows- we’ll be around Virginia the next few weeks and have a northeast tour in the works for October. We’d love to see you all out and THANK YOU for all your support and love and messages during our tour.
